Competence-By-Design (CBD) Committee

This is the KBD’s youngest committee, and it is responsible for: 

  • Transition phase that involves staff and resident training on CBD.

  • Inclusion and follow-up of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in the evaluation and core curriculum of the Kuwait Board of Dermatology.

  • integration of EPAs into the evaluation process, and distributing the correct EPAs into different rotations:

    • Transition to discipline.

    • Foundation of discipline

    • Core of discipline.

    • Transition to practice.

  • Assessment of resident progress in EPA and deciding promotion in EPA stages.

  • Creation of plan for residents who are falling short of EPA completion.

  • Creation of CBD and growth mindset orientations to residents.

  • Ensuring the inclusion of the CANMED framework in the program and evaluation of residents in the Kuwait Board of Dermatology.

  • Allocation of academic supervisors to residents

  • Implementation of coaching over time (CoT) concept in the Kuwait of dermatology.
